What clients are saying.

  • "Aging as an athlete can be physically and emotionally taxing- especially if you have injuries and goals! Working with someone who understands this dynamic is so important. Jake has an excellent balance of knowledge, kindness and is super responsive. Since working together I’m getting stronger and remembering why I love running"

    Stacie A.

  • "Jake Stout is my highest recommendation for PT in the Portland area. He is fair, hard working, and genuine. He worked with me as a collegiate athlete for the university of Portland and dug my career out of the grave it was headed towards. I can attribute both of my successes in college and now as a professional runner to the solid foundation of rehabilitation exercises and deep tissue maintenance that he provided."

    Reid Buchanan

Professional runner for ON Running and multiple time All American at the University of Portland.

  • "After a stress fracture took me out of marathon training, Jake not only got me running again, but he coached me to become a stronger and healthier athlete."

    Former Client

  • "Jake is a professional, kind, and extremely knowledgeable physical therapist who has, over the years, helped fix my knee (boot camp / running injury) dislocated rib, misc neck injury, and some random foot pain (from running). He has also helped me be pain free for months now ever since he started helping me with my training."

    Stephanie B

  • I have seen Jake for PT and as a running coach. He is the BEST! In my first training cycle with him, I shaved 10 minutes off my marathon PR. As a life long runner/athlete and PT, Jake is an expert at adjusting workouts to accomondate specific needs, limitations and desires. He builds each training or rehab plan to incorporate personal schedule making the plans both effective and accessible. Jake understands not just the physical side of training but the mental game associate with performance. Bring him your all- goals, injuries, set back and PRs. He's got you covered. I highly recommend Jake to athletes of all levels.

    Ainsley Sundberg

  • Working with Jake I have made full recoveries from a near complete tear of my achilles, torn groin adductor, and a torn hip labrum. I am working with him on back issues now and it remains the most important aspect of getting back to the quality of life I love. He is masterful at what he does, in insane shape, and shows genuine care every time i come in. Work with Jake and stick with it! You will be amazed at how much ground you can cover.

    Brian Cole

  • I didn't think I needed a coach until a friend convinced me to reach out to Jake before my marathon... WHAT A DIFFERENCE. I didn't know what real coaching could do until I started working with Jake. I can't say enough good things - I'm getting older but running faster than ever and have never felt better.

    Brian Roesler

  • Two years of a recurring back pain that I could not make go away was solved by Jake in the just a few session and couple months of work at home. I tried other PT's over the years that seemed to just print out general exercises that did not seem to help and I kept re-injuring it over time. Jake took the time to help explain where my body was not balanced and why. He gave me both regular PT exercises plus specific "quick stretching" exercises to do in-between meetings during the work day. Plus, Jake took the time to review my current workout program and cut out a few items he thought were creating a risk of re-injury. After two years of back pain, I've been pain free for over 6 months. Jake is my hero!
