How to Get Started as a Runner

You don’t need to be “a runner” to start
A lot of people think running isn’t for them but every runner starts somewhere. You don’t need fancy gear or experience, just a willingness to begin.

Start slower than you think
The biggest mistake beginners make is doing too much too soon. Start with short, manageable runs or run-walk intervals so your body can adapt without burning out.

Focus on consistency, not speed
At the beginning, pace doesn’t matter. What matters is showing up regularly and building the habit. Progress comes from consistency, not pushing yourself to exhaustion.

Avoid common beginner injuries
New runners often deal with soreness or minor injuries because their bodies aren’t used to the impact. A little guidance on form, strength, and recovery can make a huge difference.
